Pace is set by trust.
How much we trust Him sets a pace we can sustain.
How little we trust Him sets a pace of fear, striving, and burnout.
Our pace directly reflects our trust in the Name above every name: Jesus Christ.
Notice I use the word pace here. I chose this word intentionally because, as believers, we are always walking forward, taking the next step. But how are we stepping?
Are we praying, actively watching and witnessing how God is directing our steps before we take the next one? Or are we frantically, tunnel-visioned, walking in our own will and our own way?
Look up. Ask Him. Watch. Keep taking steps—responding to life as it unfolds before you in partnership with the One who works all things together for good.
His glory is actively unfolding around us, and we are invited to bear witness to it if we choose to look up, ask, watch, and step with Him.
Glory to our God, who loves you, advocates for you, and is passionate about co-laboring with you in the life He has given you.
Lord, would we feel Your presence with us today. Would we pause and look for You, communing with You as our day unfolds. Guide our steps, Father. We are listening, watching, and hoping for Your glory to be the marker of our lives. Amen.
“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior.”
— Psalm 42:5
“For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him to serve you.”
— 2 Corinthians 13:4
“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”
— Jeremiah 31:25
