God’s Timing Is Good

When we pay attention to what God is doing, witnessing the power of His timing changes the way we wait. It changes the way we hope.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Not just beautiful. Beautiful in its time.

It’s easy to believe the good thing is the thing we are waiting for. But what if the timing is part of the gift, too? God does not just know what we need. He knows when we need it.

He knows when a door needs to open and when it needs to stay closed. He knows when we are ready for something and when He is still preparing us. He knows what is happening around us that we cannot see and what He is forming within us that we may not recognize yet.

Sometimes what feels like a delay is preparation. Sometimes what feels like a closed door is protection. Sometimes we never see what God is doing, but by faith, we trust that He is good.

Our peace cannot depend on knowing when. It has to come from knowing Who holds the when.

I’ve been living this with the Lord lately, and something I’m learning is that God’s timing often has less to do with when the door opens and more to do with the soil it will open into.

He knows what needs to grow. He knows what needs to be removed. He knows what needs more time. That has changed the way I wait.

Just because we do not have an answer yet doesn’t mean that God is withholding something good. Just because we are tired of waiting does not mean we should give in to the rush. We can trust that not yet is not the same thing as not good.

Maybe there is a prayer you have carried longer than you expected. Maybe you thought a door would have opened by now. Maybe something you were certain would happen hasn’t happened. Maybe you are simply tired of waiting. Friend, I don’t know what God’s timing will look like in your story, but I do know this: God’s timing is good because God is good.

We get to hope, not because we know exactly what He will do, but because we know who He is.

There is a beautiful freedom that comes when we surrender the timing to the God who knows exactly what He is doing.

Maybe today, we don’t need to know when. Maybe we just need to know Who. He never wastes our waiting. He works through it.
