The Importance of your Testimony

The Importance of your Testimony

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 5:16 ESV

You know the old saying, “Sharing is caring?”

Well when it comes to sharing our testimony with others, I’m pretty sure that quote doesn’t speak to the pure terror some of us feel when we think about telling other people about what God has brought us through.

Some of us feel too broken. Our stories are riddled with sin and shame, and we are hesitant to let others into the pain.

And some of us feel too bland. Our stories don’t have a big enough punch and we’re afraid they’re too simple to have an impact on others.

I don’t know where your story falls between these two extremes. Whether you’re a woman who’s known Jesus since childhood or someone who has been to hell and back and is just now understanding the love of Christ.

But I do know this: Regardless of what your redemption story looks like, you, my friend, are still redeemed.

Your story matters. Each time we are brave enough to allow people in and share what we've been through or currently going through, we’re trusting God with our testimony and giving Him permission to use our story to showcase His power or move in someone else’s life.

Keep showing up in faith, being willing to tell others about what God has done for you and what He’s teaching you. Keep opening your heart with courage and vulnerability.

Because it’s not about US – it’s about HIM. We are just the vessels to showcase the love and light of a glorious God.
