Seasons

Seasons

Ecclesiastes 3:1 - “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under Heaven:...”

Winter has come and gone, once again; and ladies, Spring is here!  Have you noticed (and I am sure you have...) that the seasons never change their order?

Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall.

Just as specific as God was with the order of each season, He is even more specific with the plan/order for our lives.

In Daniel 2:21, we are reminded of God’s sovereignty in the midst of all seasons:  “He changes times and seasons: he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;”

What a powerful God we serve. Each of us is navigating different seasons of life.

Seasons of: growth, grief, depth of understanding, longing for more, discomfort, new beginning, feeling lost, feeling found, ________________ (fill in your season).

Whatever the season God is allowing you to grow through, understand that He sees you. He is with you, and He is growing you through purifying and disciplining your heart.

Our lives are constantly shifting in one way or another, but The Word of God tells us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

Rest in our constant Savior today. There is peace in Him.

I love you, and thank you for allowing me to worship with you this month!

Mephibosheth, whose name means “shame”, was the son of Jonathon and the grandson of King Saul. He was a crippled man living in a dry wasteland called Lo-Debar which means “no pastures.” He was living there because when he was just 5 years old, news spread that his dad and granddad, Jonathan and Saul, were both killed. The remainder of Saul’s family could only assume that with the new King David coming into power, they would all be killed off next, so they fled in fear to become exiles and ene...

Compassion Triumphs Pity
Compassion Triumphs Pity

September 13, 2023

We can find biblical hope for this struggle when we consider the story of the Israelites’ exile in the Old Testament. The afflictions of the Israelites’ exile were two-fold. On one hand, they were exiled because of their own sin, and on the other hand, their burdens were increased because of the sin of the nations oppressing them. I am certain that if I were an exiled Israelite, I would have been grumbling and throwing pity parties the majority of the time. How does God respond to them? Throu...
