Jesus has been revealing Himself all along. Have I been paying attention?
Over the next five weeks in our Wheatful Wednesday devotion, we'll be slowing down to notice Jesus.
As we walk through John 8–12 together, we'll pay attention to who Jesus reveals Himself to be—and we'll ask ourselves one simple question each week:
Do I believe Him?
Each chapter speaks to a longing we all carry.
In John 8, we'll discover our longing for freedom and Jesus, who is the Truth.
In John 9, we'll explore our longing for understanding and Jesus, the Light of the World.
In John 10, we'll look at our longing for direction and Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
In John 11, we'll find our longing for hope and Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life.
Finally, in John 12, we'll consider our longing for purpose and what it looks like to pour out our lives in response to the One who first gave His for us.
As I studied these chapters, I couldn't help but notice that they mirror the spiritual journey of so many of us. Jesus frees us. He opens our eyes. He teaches us to follow His voice. He invites us to trust Him when life doesn't make sense. And ultimately, He calls us to spend our lives for His glory.
My prayer is that this series won't simply help us know more about Jesus, but that it will help us notice Him more personally. May these next five weeks become a quiet place where we learn to recognize His voice, believe His words, and encounter Him in fresh ways.
