This week I've been introducing the women who will be joining us at Behold. As I introduced each one, I realized I wasn't writing about what she'd accomplished at all.
I thought about the way Bethany listens.
The way Hannah makes people feel welcomed before they ever walk through the door.
The way Kate notices details no one else sees.
The way Ginna Claire worships.
The way Jessica makes people feel at home.
The way Erin reminds women they aren't alone.
None of those qualities would ever appear on a résumé.
But I have a feeling they're exactly the kinds of things heaven celebrates.
It reminded me that this has always been God's way.
He looks beyond accomplishments and into the heart.
He sees who we are becoming.
"Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." — 1 Samuel 16:7
As I prayed over each woman, I couldn't help but wonder if these were the very things God wanted me to notice.
Not their accomplishments.
Their faithfulness.
Their kindness.
The quiet ways they love people.
Maybe that's exactly what was needed to create the kind of atmosphere He had in mind for this weekend.
Jesus washed feet.
He noticed the weary.
He noticed the overlooked.
He noticed what everyone else hurried past.
Because that's what love does.
And I wonder what God has been noticing in your life lately.
Not your productivity.
Not the things the world uses to define you.
Maybe He's noticing...
the quiet prayer no one heard.
the meal you made.
the conversation you stayed in a little longer.
the encouraging text you sent.
the forgiveness you chose.
the child you rocked to sleep.
the friend you called.
the ordinary moments that looked insignificant to everyone else.
As I've prepared for Behold this fall, I've realized this is exactly the kind of women I want surrounding our guests.
Women who love well when no one is watching.
Women who quietly point people toward Jesus.
Women who create space where others can breathe.
If you've been considering joining us this November, I'd love for you to know this is the kind of atmosphere we are praying over.
Not one built around personalities.
One built around the presence of God.
There are moments while planning these retreats when I wonder if anyone notices all the little details.
And then I'm reminded...
God does.
The quiet life lived faithfully with Jesus is never overlooked by heaven.
I don't think heaven measures influence the way we do.
I think it delights in faithfulness.
With love,
Britt Goff #WheatfulWednesday

If you'd like to join an incredible community of women for a weekend that leaves us all better than it finds us, you can learn more here.
Our November retreat theme is Behold. Behold is a call to pause, pay attention, and fix your eyes on God. Inspired by Isaiah 30, this retreat invites women to step away from the noise of everyday life and into a space of rest, renewal, and deeper connection with Him. As we behold His goodness, we find clarity, peace, and confidence in the One who faithfully guides our steps.
