Exhale Today: Trusting God in the Pause

Exhale Today: Trusting God in the Pause

I’ll Do It Later

I’ll exhale when I have space.

But an exhale requires a pause to breathe in—a choice to trust that the pause is worth the coming exhale.

So often, we wait for peace until everything feels settled. We tell ourselves, I’ll breathe when this is over. I’ll rest when I have more time. I’ll feel joy when things finally line up.

But the joy and alignment we experience with the Lord often come after we trust Him, not before.

Peace comes as we walk out faith through action.

Trust is a pathway into God’s presence.

The exhale we sometimes dangle in front of ourselves like a carrot is actually something we can reach for right now and experience. And here’s the beautiful part: the exhale doesn’t just last for the two seconds it takes to breathe out. It equips us to take the next step in His presence, with His power.

We all live under the lie that later is better.

But what if today we became “exhale today” people?

What if we trusted God enough to pause, breathe, obey, and receive the peace He is offering us right here—not because everything is resolved, but because He is with us in the middle of it?

A few Scriptures to hold onto as we trust and exhale today:

Philippians 4:6–7 NIV “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 NIV “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Hebrews 11:1 NIV “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV “For we live by faith, not by sight.”
