Our desire is to be a vessel for the Lord to create a tool that enables us to fight for truth in the middle of uncertainty, lies and less than ideal circumstances. Our prayer is this tool will be your go-to in moments where the world seems to spin. We pray you would open your "Warrior Words" book to find hope, peace, and most importantly, truth by identifying with emotion or circumstance and being led to open your Bible and hear straight from the word of God.

Our dreams and desires, paired with our knowledge of God's character and faithfulness, begin to become much more grand and holy than we could ever imagine apart from knowing Christ.

I believe God made each of us having unique yearnings in our hearts. Let's be women that are not afraid of dreaming but do so walking hand-in-hand with whom God says He is in full surrender to His will that is always greater than our own.

No matter where you are in your life, no matter what you are facing today, the insecurities, fears, and trials you have on your plate, I pray this book blesses you by equipping you with tools to realize your emotions and circumstances, rely on our God and His word for direction and digestion of those emotions and circumstances and to respond (in word and deed) grounded in truth and love.

Why we created this tool:

Hearing God: 23 days to discern the guiding voice of God

The greatest gift God gives us is His heart. To know Him is to love like Him and to love like Him we must understand how to hear Him. In a world that can overcomplicate God’s love, I have felt God prompting me to spend time with Him, in the creation of this study, so we can all learn how to hear His voice more intimately than before or perhaps for the first time.

Why we created this tool:

Our Wheat & Honey Co. author team has observed a unified theme in the way God has prompted our latest devotional study topics. We hear God loudly declaring His intention to lead our community of women to a deeper recognition of His voice through the understanding of His love and His presence. We recently released our “The Pursuit of Presence: Navigating through seasons of life by pursuing presence in our promises” and “Hearing God: 23 Days to Discern the Guiding Voice of God” devotional studies and it does not feel like a coincidence that the devotional study to follow, the study in your hands, is guiding us to an intimate understanding of how to find our identity in the love God has for us.

It’s a humbling position to write from being keenly aware of the Father’s heart behind this theme and my desperate need for Him to do it justice. I sit down to write these pages with the perspective of a reader, ready to receive what God has for us. I’m creating this tool, not because I have an abundance of time to launch something new into the world (it’s comically quite the opposite) but because I heard God speak to me. I believe God wants your time with Him through these pages to be a time of sabbath. I believe His presence, that is going to wash over us, is spreading holy ground beneath our feet. I pray this study challenges us, in healthy ways, to be more like Christ but I also pray that it meets you where you are with a warm hug. Wheatful Woman was born. We have expanded to host Wheatful Woman Retreats and also a Wheatful Woman Podcast knowing when we act in obedience, God will meet us right where we are. We have seen God meet our W&HC team and our Wheatful Woman Community in more ways than we can count and we pray this devotional is your personal experience of that.

This tool was created as a result of several years of weekly "Wheatful Wednesday" devotionals shared with our online community. I remember reading two remarkable books in the midst of my postpartum experience with my son Hudson. One was Sarah Bessey’s “Miracles and Other Reasonable Things” and the other was Tish Warren’s “Prayer in the Night” (I highly recommend both of them btw). It felt as though God had placed both of these in my lap because they were life-changing to me. I saturated myself with these words and insights into the heart of God when it felt difficult for me to get the truths I needed from the Word. I think, if anything, this is what inspires me most when I think about writing this devotional to you. I know the power of a rightly timed piece of wisdom said with care and love. The words found in this devotional aren’t anything profound that I’ve thought up or things that I’ve casually discovered while perusing the scriptures. No! These words are hard-fought pieces of silver that have been tested and tried by fire. These are the words that I received (mostly out of sheer stubbornness) after having wrestled God through the night with only a broken hip to show for it. This is how God has pulled me through when I didn’t know if I was going to make it, and I hope with everything within me that it does the same for you.

Admittedly, I spent years thinking women were being a little too tender when celebrating their breastfeeding journeys. To me, it was just as simple as baby + breast = breastfeeding. It wasn’t until my goopy, fresh firstborn was placed on my chest that I realized there was way more to it. It’s an emotionally, spiritually, physically, and mentally demanding journey that’s far more complex than the simple baby + breast equation.

As we mull over how it’s best for us to feed our baby, it can be easy for our God-given desire to nurture to get entangled with anxiety, shame, and guilt. John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; I come so that they may have life, and have it to the full.” I’ve seen the enemy try to steal the joy that comes from nursing, squish and kill my motherly intuition, and destroy my sense of self-worth when I struggle with production.

Thankfully, we can take Jesus at his promise to bring fullness of life—and that includes our breastfeeding journey. He’s brought back my joy and set me in a place of clarity. He’s reminded me of my unshakable stance before him: precious, loved, and made in his likeness—in the likeness of the ultimate provider and sustainer of life. And! He’ll do it for you too. As I embark on the 27th month of my breastfeeding journey, I hope to point out to you God’s nearness and the way He’s cheering for you.

I have always desired to be pregnant and have looked forward to it since I was little. I also have always loved children, which only grew exponentially after having my own as I’m sure the vast majority of mamas would agree. What a gift God has given us! What an honor, what a joy, what a privilege to be able to help create, grow, nourish, house, bear, care for, nurture, and love children. What an honor to be a woman, to be entrusted with so much responsibility. I am humbled that the Lord has trusted me with one of the greatest joys He could give us in this life.

The Holy Spirit showed me before I was even married that a joyful, lovely, peaceful, and pain-free pregnancy and birth was His perfect will for women. Our Savior, Redeemer, and Restorer took the curse upon Himself so that we could be saved not only for eternity but in this life now, in every area. He set us free, liberating us from the clutches of the one who hates us most. I am so passionate about showing the truth to every woman that I can so that they can enjoy the process from conception to postpartum and beyond! When I was pregnant with our miracle baby, Hudson, God put it on my heart to release a series of devotionals that complement one another on the theme of motherhood. As one mom, I immediately knew this project needed multiple women, with multiple experiences and perspectives. The Lord has a tender heart for mothers. He created women with the innate ability to nurture and be a display of strength unlike anything else on this earth. It did not take long for peace that surpasses all understanding or overthinking to flood my heart in assurance that this was a project God had for Wheat & Honey Co.

A quick behind the scenes: once it was time to begin, I reached out to a handful of trusted and Spirit-prompted friends, requesting they share an author application with anyone they felt would be a fit for an author position. From there, women applied and God began filling in the next steps and our authors were identified.

These next several pages were written to bring light to our enemy who convinces us that lies are truth. These pages were also written to, more importantly, remind you that you have access to a heavenly perspective, understanding who our God is and who we are, as mothers, in Him. God has a role for mothers that is pivotal for the Kingdom. Our Motherhood Devotional series is going to eliminate the enemy’s access to the hearts of mothers. God is here and He has something to say that will change everything.

Father, thank you for the opportunity to sit with women in their varying seasons of motherhood. I pray that your voice will be heard through these pages. Help us to eliminate anything distracting our heart, leading us to believe lies that are not from You. I pray the women who sit with you would receive a unique message from you that changes everything. Thank you for being our God who saves. Thank you for saving us, calling us, and comforting us. Thank you for changing everything. Amen.
