We all desire to experience the comfort and compassion only God can offer. Whether we know to label that desire as a yearning for God or not, it’s in all of us, deep down, in our core, it’s what we were created for. We need the comfort and assurance that God is for us. Without it, we live with a void. Experiencing God’s presence is the only thing that can fulfill any longing of our souls fully. We were created to need God and He so compassionately made a way for us to be made new in Him, renewed in all moments, in all the ways. How incredible.
God is compassionate. The definition of compassion is feeling or showing sympathy and concern for others. Add holiness and eternal perspective to that and, wow. God feels concern, His heart is tender for our joy. He wants the best for us. He does not let our trust in Him return anything but His best for us. Every time.
It’s one thing to know about God and it’s another to know Him. I pray we would not only experience God but we would share about how we have experienced Him with those around us. His compassion overflows through us when we not only live from His compassion but share that experience with others.
