A Woman to Admire & Inspire: Mary of Nazareth

A Woman to Admire & Inspire: Mary of Nazareth

There are so many assumptions that we make of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The facts? She was young and unmarried and told by an angel that she would birth the Savior of the world. This is so NOT casual. I cannot even imagine what Mary was feeling, questioning, fearing, etc. What matters most is that she ultimately responded in agreement. One of the most important roles in the Bible. We don’t get all of her details, but we do know the end of the story because Jesus came for us!

When the angel delivers the news to Mary, the words “you who are highly favored” are dropped. What beautiful affirmation for a stunned woman! God stores so much affirmation for us throughout His Word as well. He means for us to hide it in our hearts to remember that we are CHOSEN. He built a bridge to humanity. He came to save us. He came for a personal relationship with us. Just as He saw Mary all those hundreds of years ago, He sees us today!

Jesus, you have had an ordained plan from the beginning of time. You created us to bring us into deep relationship with you, and that is the sweetest comfort to our hearts. You see our longings, you see our pain, and you meet us exactly where we are. We believe that you will use our stories at any age and any stage. Let our desires align with your will. We love you. Amen.
