More about our theme BEHOLD

Behold is an invitation to slow down, turn our attention toward Jesus, and fix our eyes on who He is.

In the middle of ever-changing circumstances, it can be easy to become consumed by what is happening around us. Behold is a chance to quiet the noise, become aware of God’s presence, and choose to see Him and trust Him right where we are.

Our hope is that this retreat creates space for renewed intimacy with Jesus—that as we intentionally sit with Him, we might rediscover something about our Father that was available to us all along.

Behold isn’t about figuring everything out. It’s about turning our attention toward the One who is already with us.

Our Weekend Schedule

Thursday | Arrival & Welcome

4:00 PM — Early Luggage Drop-Off
Guests are welcome to leave luggage on the porch of their assigned home beginning at 4:00 PM.

6:00 PM — Check-In
Arrive and settle into your home away from home for the weekend.

6:30 PM — Welcome Dinner
Dinner together at your home.

7:30 PM — Small Group Gathering #1
Our first small group gathering and time to connect, reflect, and prepare our hearts for the weekend ahead.

9:00 PM — Close for the Evening
Official programming concludes for the night.

Before We Gather - A Letter From Britt

Dear friend,

Long before we gather in WaterColor, I believe God is already beginning something in each of us.

So, in the months leading up to Behold, my invitation to you is simple: make a little room.

Room to be still.
Room to listen.
Room to notice.
Room to let God meet you right where you are.

You don't need to arrive with everything figured out. You don't need to have the right words, the right questions, or even know exactly what you're hoping for. Just come as you are, with a heart willing to receive.

Spend some time in prayer and ask God to speak to you personally. He is so kind to meet us in the ordinary—and often very busy—moments of our lives at home. In fact, I believe those quiet moments with Him before we ever arrive are part of what makes our time together at Behold so powerful.

You might keep a journal nearby in the coming months and simply begin to notice: Where am I right now? What am I carrying? What am I longing for? What am I hoping God will do? Where am I seeing Him at work in my everyday life?

There is no assignment here. Just an invitation to pay attention.

If you'd like something intentional to walk through in the months ahead, we also have devotionals on our website. They are there for you as an optional tool—a way to slow down, spend time with God, and begin preparing your heart for the sacred time we'll share together.

And then, when the weekend comes, come as you are.

I believe God is already going before us. I believe He is already stirring hearts, preparing conversations, and making a way for what He wants to do. He never fails to show up personally for each of us.

I can already feel the swell of all His good plans building.

I can't wait to behold what He has for us together soon.

Thursday

Our arrival evening is very casual. Whatever you like to travel in will be perfect for a cozy dinner at the house and our living room gathering with your small group. Come as you are!

Friday

A casual dress or pants and a blouse would be perfect for our session at The Chapel at Seaside. After that, you’ll want comfortable attire for the rest of the day as we explore this charming beach town and spend time at the guest homes.

Comfortable shoes are highly recommended for the entire trip! WaterColor and Seaside are so walkable, and you’ll want to enjoy being out and about without worrying about your feet.

For Friday, think athleisure, pool/beach attire, and casual-cute options. You may find yourself at the pool, walking the beach, grabbing coffee, browsing the bookstore, or enjoying an afternoon at the food trucks!

Saturday

For sunrise worship, you’ll likely just want to be warm and cozy! A sweatshirt, athletic pants, and socks are perfect. If you’re planning to be baptized, we recommend wearing black.

The rest of the day is all about COMFORT. Think athleisure, athletic shoes, flip-flops, and whatever makes you feel relaxed and ready to adventure around the beach and town.

For our beach photos and chef dinner, most women like to wear a flowy dress or pants and a blouse—whatever makes you feel beautiful! The beach photos are a fun opportunity to get a little dressed up and capture some special memories together.

The Chapel and beach photos are really the only moments we’ll think much about attire all weekend. The rest is comfort-forward.

Sunday

Wear whatever you’d like to travel home in for our goodbye gathering!

Other Items To Consider

The WaterColor Beach Club provides towel service, so no need to pack a beach towel!
Swimsuit, sunscreen, sunglasses, and anything else you’ll want for the beach or pool
A good book, your Bible, AirPods, or whatever helps you relax and enjoy some downtime
Toiletries and personal items you’ll want for the weekend
Comfortable walking shoes—you’ll be glad you brought them!

This list could be extensive if I didn't real it in. Here are a few of my favorite things to do around town!! You will find yourself with countless options within walking distance as our weekend unfolds. These options are just to get you excited for the destination we get to enjoy together for a few days!

Coffee / lite breakfast:

Amavida in Seaside (a short walk)
Beach Happy Cafe (just a few blocks from our home and on the way to the beach club! My favorite stop to take a coffee on a morning beach walk)

Breakfast: Black Bear Bread Co., The Great Southern (reservation recommended), or Scratch Biscuit Kitchen. Scratch is just a few blocks from our retreat homes. The other two options are in Seaside, just about a 15 minute walk from our homes. Black Bear Bread Co. is my favorite casual breakfast spot when I'm up for a walk!

Lunch or Dinner: Seagrove Village Market, FOOW (Fish Out Of Water), Taco Bar, Shrimp Shack, food trucks, Bud & Alleys, Cocina Cubana, Pickle’s Burger & Shake, The Great Southern (reservation recommended), Surfing Deer. My personal favorite is Fish Out Of Water (it's a few blocks from our home) or the food trucks in Seaside!

WaterColor Beach & Pool Club: Because our homes are located in WaterColor, we get access to the beach club. Inside scoop - this is a non-negotiable for me when traveling to this area and the reason I return over and over again. The beach club provides a towel service at entry, has multiple pools (including an adults only pool), has a restaurant, a drink service on the way down to the beach and beach access. With your wristband (that you will receive at check in) you have access to the beach club for the entire weekend. It's just a few blocks from our guest homes and my favorite "free time" activity of the weekend.

Shopping: Shops are location in WaterColor and Seaside, all steps from our guest homes!

Explore the shops of 30-A Modica Market (The Holiday movie vibes), Boutiques (The Art of Simple is my personal fave!), Heavenly's Ice Cream, Sundog Books, Seaside and WaterColor t-shirt shops, and a pop up outdoor shopping experience in Seaside.

WaterColor and Seaside are also full of walkable areas for deep breaths and solitude

Home Property Details

As the weekend gets closer, I will be adding details here about wifi passwords, door codes and your weekend contact information (to reach someone on our host team for any needs!).

Bikes, Elevator, Wristbands & Pool Towels

Beach Club / Pool Wristbands: You will receive a wristband for the weekend that will be needed to enter the Watercolor Beach Club. There is a $125 fee if your personal wristband is misplaced.

Beach & Pool Towels: Please leave all bath towels at the home. The Watercolor Beach Club has a towel service for any beach / pool goers! You will need a wristband to enter the beach club.

Bikes: The bikes at our properties are not for our use. Please do not touch these. There is a $750 fine per bike moved.

Elevator: Please make sure to close all doors as you enter and exit the elevator. There is a 400lb weight limit. Please only use the elevator if you need it. We want to keep everyone safe!

Optional Behold Sweatshirt & Hat

Each guest will be getting a retreat t-shirt included in your retreat ticket. You will let us know your preferred size on the registration form. We also offer a retreat sweatshirt and hat for purchase here. Any sweatshirt or hat orders placed at this point will be shipped to you following the retreat weekend.
