When you struggle to receive gifts

When you struggle to receive gifts

Ever struggle with receiving gifts? I do.

Walking through a tumultuous, stressful, or painful season can make you feel like you are always in full survival mode. But, when you finally overcome and make it to the other side your new season and heart have to realign.

Sometimes we get caught up in what we feel is “too good to be true”, that we miss out on experiencing the enjoyment of the gift God intentionally placed in front of you to BLESS you.

Scripture promises us that His plans, amidst the trial and pain, are for our ultimate good (Romans 8:28).

So if this is true, why is it so easy sometimes to doubt good things gifted unto you?

Maybe you experienced conditional love, were rejected, or even this is the first time in your life you are genuinely experiencing something good.

We have a promise from God greater than any lie that we aren’t worthy of mercy, grace, and love poured over our life.

His son died for YOU! You get to reap the blessing of unconditional love, the gift of eternal life, and ENJOY a life of freedom because you devoted your life to Christ.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” Phil 4:19

He intentionally blesses you with exactly what He knows your heart may need. Enjoy and embrace the gifts He may place in front of you…because sister, He loves you.

Compassion Triumphs Pity
Compassion Triumphs Pity

September 13, 2023

We can find biblical hope for this struggle when we consider the story of the Israelites’ exile in the Old Testament. The afflictions of the Israelites’ exile were two-fold. On one hand, they were exiled because of their own sin, and on the other hand, their burdens were increased because of the sin of the nations oppressing them. I am certain that if I were an exiled Israelite, I would have been grumbling and throwing pity parties the majority of the time. How does God respond to them? Throu...

As Christians, the biggest problem with unhealthy comparison is that it misplaces our passion for building the Kingdom of God onto building our own kingdoms of self. Comparison strips us of seeing what God has given us and called us to.
