When you struggle to receive gifts

When you struggle to receive gifts

Ever struggle with receiving gifts? I do.

Walking through a tumultuous, stressful, or painful season can make you feel like you are always in full survival mode. But, when you finally overcome and make it to the other side your new season and heart have to realign.

Sometimes we get caught up in what we feel is “too good to be true”, that we miss out on experiencing the enjoyment of the gift God intentionally placed in front of you to BLESS you.

Scripture promises us that His plans, amidst the trial and pain, are for our ultimate good (Romans 8:28).

So if this is true, why is it so easy sometimes to doubt good things gifted unto you?

Maybe you experienced conditional love, were rejected, or even this is the first time in your life you are genuinely experiencing something good.

We have a promise from God greater than any lie that we aren’t worthy of mercy, grace, and love poured over our life.

His son died for YOU! You get to reap the blessing of unconditional love, the gift of eternal life, and ENJOY a life of freedom because you devoted your life to Christ.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” Phil 4:19

He intentionally blesses you with exactly what He knows your heart may need. Enjoy and embrace the gifts He may place in front of you…because sister, He loves you.

The Spirit of God seals us, sanctifying us away from our old life. We could rephrase today’s Scripture verse like this: Remember, that we were once slaves in our sin and that the LORD our God brought us out of that bondage with a mighty hand and outstretched arms on the cross. May we never forget this truth, sisters. We were powerless and now the power of Christ which saved us, abides in us. God, we remember that we are powerless to deliver ourselves and we thank you for your gracious and pow...

Letting go of my “boast list”
Letting go of my “boast list”

April 10, 2024

Turns out that like Paul, I’m not as “good” as my spiritual “boast list” makes me appear. I had misunderstood the beauty of the gospel- that salvation is based solely on the goodness of God, not the goodness of me. It is God’s grace that produces good works in us, not the other way around. Friend, let this truth dissolve any stock we have in our ability to produce a spiritual “boast list.” It’s been a humbling journey to let go of my “boast list,” but the grace of Jesus is so much better to h...
