The beauty of trial

The beauty of trial

Appreciating God’s gifts has an entirely new meaning after you’ve experienced things in life being unexpectedly taken away — jobs, people, health…

If you’ve ever walked through seasons of not having much more to lose, or very little left to give, you recognize how crucial it is for your faith to come in.

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe” Hebrews 12:28

What a gift we get to reap — that we have a kingdom, a God, that cannot and will not be shaken — especially in seasons where it feels our whole world has been.

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15

The beauty of trial is it blesses you with an opportunity to reap thankfulness. Praise Him for His goodness. Always reflect on how far you’ve come. For all that He’s brought you through, for the amazing things He has done, and will continue to do in you.

The remainder of Saul’s family could only assume that with the new King David coming into power, they would all be killed off next, so they fled in fear to become exiles and ene...

Compassion Triumphs Pity
Compassion Triumphs Pity

September 13, 2023

We can find biblical hope for this struggle when we consider the story of the Israelites’ exile in the Old Testament. The afflictions of the Israelites’ exile were two-fold. On one hand, they were exiled because of their own sin, and on the other hand, their burdens were increased because of the sin of the nations oppressing them. I am certain that if I were an exiled Israelite, I would have been grumbling and throwing pity parties the majority of the time. How does God respond to them? Throu...
