Waiting as Eschatological Hope (Future Fulfillment)
Christians wait ultimately for Christ’s return and the fulfillment of God’s promises, living in light of what is to come.
“We wait eagerly for… the redemption of our bodies.” (Romans 8:23)
Waiting anchors us in future hope.
Ultimately, Christian waiting points beyond our present circumstances to the promise of Christ’s return. We wait not without assurance, but with confidence that redemption is coming and that God will make all things new.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to wait with trust, hope, and faithfulness. Use this season to shape my heart, strengthen my faith, and fix my eyes on your promises. Would you use how I wait not just for my intimacy in knowing you, but also as an example to the world of who you are and how you love us, that we get to wait in hope because of your love? Amen.
