Sharing our Journey

Sharing our Journey

Seeking the Lord in all things and desiring to live a God-honoring, holy life takes diligence. As spiritual practices can become more natural rhythms as we practice them, it will always be a choice to continue on the path of righteousness.

When we are diligent in pursuing to know God more and make Him known, we must understand how powerful communal prayer is.

As I’ve been writing our devotions for this month, I’ve been thinking a lot about individual women in our community and how we desperately want to grow in faith each and every day. We want to be women that know God, and that is a process where we never “arrive” but are always on the journey. When I read James 5:16 today, I felt an urge to hold space for us to fix our eyes on this truth today.

James 5:16 (NIV) says, "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."

Seeking the Lord requires diligence. Diligence that comes with great privilege. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Sharing our lives with those close to us is powerful. Allowing other people to pray alongside us and to pray for our people is also powerful. It’s a way of seeing God move that we can never experience apart from praying with our people. We are limited in what we can experience of God in our own experiences. Sharing our journeys with others allows our perspective and our experience of God’s goodness to expand as a result.
