God's heart for redemption

God's heart for redemption

When is the last time we paused to contemplate God’s heart for redemption in our lives and in the intimate detail of our circumstances? We talk about the redeeming love of God in context of His saving grace, but how often might we miss the seemingly smaller things in life that are the work of His redeeming hand?

Maybe something in life has been hard but it isn’t anymore. A relationship, a disappointment. Shame we carry or a waiting season that has come to a close. Maybe it’s a loss of one thing in your life to make room for something new. Isaiah 44 tells us to “remember these things,” both the big redeeming moments and the seemingly small.

What in your life comes to mind that maybe (or maybe not) was easy to overlook in the busyness of our days? What is something that you can reflect on and praise God for His good redeeming plan and purpose? I want to invite us to read verse 23 below in praise to our Father who loves us and has proven Himself faithful time and time again. We give you all our praise, God!

“Remember these things, Jacob,
    for you, Israel, are my servant.
I have made you, you are my servant;
    Israel, I will not forget you.
I have swept away your offenses like a cloud,
    your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me,
    for I have redeemed you.”

Sing for joy, you heavens, for the Lord has done this;
    shout aloud, you earth beneath.
Burst into song, you mountains,
    you forests and all your trees,
for the Lord has redeemed Jacob,
    he displays his glory in Israel.” Isaiah 44:21–23
