There is a power in faith that changes our hardest moments

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” Proverbs 29:25, New International Version

We have a choice where we want to live. My vision of that choice today after reading this verse is either a thorn-infested field or the Garden of Eden. There is this perfect place God has prepared for us to rest in Him that is just a whisper of surrender, trust, and—ultimately—faith away. We hold the authority of the King. We have access to Him. God commands His angels regarding us.

“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” Psalm 91:11–12, New International Version

I have to believe that God has allowed me to experience heartbreak, pain, and anxiety in my life so that I would know how to run to Him. If it weren’t for my crippling moments of fear, I can’t say I’d know how to call upon Him the same. Knowing how to seek God and find/experience Him is the most intimate experience of faith I’ve ever had. If it means hardship to know God in that way, I’d squint my eyes and take it time and time again. I am kept safe in Him. You are kept safe in Him. No circumstance or even your greatest fear is stronger than Him. I pray today we would all experience this kind of safety that surpasses understanding because that is what faith is. It’s belief in what we know to be true that is unseen.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1, New International Version

There is a power in faith that changes our hardest moments: replacing our greatest, most crippling tension with the abundance of God’s peace.
