Reason For The Season
The Christ in Christmas is, and always will be, the reason for the season. 

Humble became Holy when Jesus was born in the little manger in Bethlehem. He who came from little to nothing sacrificially died to set us sinners free, by giving us a chance to live a life redeemed. 

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.” Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV)

The Christmas season is not about the amount, or value, of the gifts wrapped beautifully under the tree; it’s about Jesus who gave the greatest gift of salvation unto us for eternity. 

Take some time today to reflect and praise God for all that He has done, and will continue to do, in your life. Just like the humble manger, we too can house holiness when we express a posture of gratefulness.

Maybe we can find gratitude in the simple hot chocolate warming up the heart. Maybe we soak up quality time while we decorate cookies. Maybe we express a greater thankfulness for the breath being refilled inside our lungs. Maybe we bask in the promise that we are loved. 

Amidst the busyness this season brings, try not to forget to slow down, and remember the power behind what keeping the Christ in Christmas truly means. Jesus’ birth in the manger to conquering death on the cross declared we were all worth the cost - that my friends, is
