… even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4
Throughout Psalm 23, King David is worshipping God, proclaiming that he doesn’t need a thing because he has God. What an extraordinary place to be in a relationship; full of contentment, peace, desire, and trust!
King David then goes on to proclaim that ‘even though’ he will walk through difficult times, he knows and trusts that God will be with him. We can't miss this, friends. David knows he is going to walk through hard situations and at the same time, is comforted by the truth that God will be with him in the valley!
As followers of Christ, Jesus reminds us that we will have trouble in the world BUT we can take heart! Jesus, our Prince of Peace, has taken over the world! John 16:33
You, my friend, are capable of walking through hard situations with boldness and confidence, trusting that God is right there with you. There may be chaos happening around us but we get to show up with a boldness and a peace that transcends any worry- trusting that God is our ultimate provider. He is our road and staff in any darkness. Thank you, Jesus, for making a way for us to live in peace, without any worry, regardless of our circumstances!
