God is present in this very moment, right now.
This Lenten season, we released a new devotional titled Life Less Hurried. The vision God gave me for this time spent with Him was that we would eliminate distractions to sit in a deeper understanding of His sovereignty. As we start a new month of Wheatful Wednesday devotionals, I’m sitting at my kitchen table exhaling, contemplating what it looks like in this very moment for each of us to fully realize God’s presence, with no expectation and no greater need besides His nearness. In this moment today, let’s allow time and our circumstances to stand still as we breathe in His peace and nearness to our souls. When we do this, God promises to fill us with all that is good, with all that is Him.
When we sit in the presence of the Lord, God fills us with the fruits of the Spirit, which allow us to live more aligned with Christ.
I pray the Holy Spirit will surround you with a feeling of peace from the top of your head to the tip of your toes as you close your eyes, take a deep breath, and believe that God is good. I pray qualities like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, hope, wisdom, understanding, grace, strength, and comfort would abound in your mind and heart supernaturally as you focus your gaze on our loving Father.
Read these words over yourself today:
-
God has peace and comfort for me in times of hardship because He is peace and comfort, and He delights in showering me with His goodness.
-
I have hope and a purpose because God promises not to waste any good thing made for His glory. I am a good thing He made for His glory.
-
God is giving me wisdom and understanding to navigate my life. He feels joy getting to walk through my life with me.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22–23 (NIV)
