A Woman to Admire & Inspire: Sarah

Abraham’s wife Sarah is another old testament treasure! God made a covenant with Abraham and disclosed that he would bear a son by Sarah. He assured him that she would be a “mother of nations” by his blessing. Both Abraham and Sarah doubted the Lord because of their old age. They even laughed in their disbelief. Sarah had been childless for decades, so we can understand her hesitation. But God keeps His Word and doesn’t make mistakes. Sure enough, Sarah bore a son when she was around 90 years old and Abraham averaged 100. It’s hard to wrap my mind around this to be honest.
God can literally do whatever He wants to do. Any time. Any place. Any age. Anywhere. With anyone. I can’t help but smile thinking about how sovereign He is! There are no limits, so watch out (ha). Even through Sarah’s uncertainty, God’s faithfulness was on display.
My people  tease me mercilessly about my obsession with sunset scenes. The amount of photos of varying sunset scapes on my phone probably *should be* embarrassing, but I can’t care. A sunset always stops me in my tracks and reminds me that my God is a promise-keeper. Each one is different and full of colors and feels like a little hug in creation form. Is there anything that brings you the same sentiment? Take inventory of it.
Jesus, we thank you that your words are true. Even when we doubt, you are still who you say that you are. You show up consistently, your character remains the same, and you keep your promises. Even though you have nothing to prove to us, your trustworthiness is undeniable. Help us to cling to you when we don’t understand. We love you so much. Amen.

Jesus, oh how we need you every hour. In our waiting, in our wanting, in every season. Nothing is hidden from you, and for that we are so thankful. You know the days of our lives and the number of hairs on our heads because you love us so intimately. We love you. Amen.
