Refined, Not Ruined: Finding Purpose in Life’s Hard Seasons

Refined, Not Ruined: Finding Purpose in Life’s Hard Seasons

You walk along the shore, gazing out at the never-ending waves—the clean, quiet line where sky meets water. Light dances across the surface, scattering reflections in soft rhythm.

As you stroll, something catches your eye.

A shell rests at your feet.

Its edges are worn, shaped by the current that carried it ashore.

What was once whole now bears the marks of time and tide.

And yet, it feels more complete this way.

Not despite the wear—but because of it.

What has been shaped by the waves is not ruined, but refined.

What feels broken in your hands may be something God is still using to reveal His beauty.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Where might something feel ruined that is actually being beautifully refined?

Beauty is here.
