More Than Imagined

My husband and I felt The Lord call us to pick up our lives and move from TX to Charlotte, NC. Despite this call, the move came with financial risks. When we got quotes on how much it could cost to move our home across the country, we were shocked at how many thousands were piling up for us to owe. 

Over the following weeks we kept praying and believed in faith that God would provide financially before we had to pay…but it was silent. As weeks went by and it came time to owe the money, I felt discouraged because I believed my prayer was left unanswered.  I even wrestled with doubts creeping in by asking myself, “What if we made a mistake? What if I heard Him wrong? If this was from Him, wouldn’t He have provided?”

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)

The Bible tells us that because God loves us, He is able to bless us more than we could ask or imagine. If God can abundantly exceed our prayers and dreams, we need to acknowledge that He may reveal answers to us differently.
 
Sometimes that looks like an answer sooner than you hoped for. Sometimes that looks like a totally new answer you didn’t even know you needed. Sometimes the answer may not be revealed until the other side of eternity.

I was convicted that I limited God’s ability to provide because it didn’t fall perfectly within my timeline. The week we finally unpacked the last of our things, we ended up unexpectedly being blessed with a relocation bonus…that exceeded our financial need.

Friend, let’s cling to faith, especially in the moments where life doesn’t make sense, because we have a God who loves and gives, in His perfect time, with abundance.
