Does the Lord qualify you?

Does the Lord qualify you?

DOES THE LORD QUALIFY YOU?

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13)

Have you ever been tasked with something you didn’t feel qualified to complete?

Maybe it was an assignment at work. Maybe it was a chore around that house that needed to get done. Or maybe it was a call from the Lord for you to step out for something greater.

I don’t know about you, but when I feel like I don’t immediately know the solution to the challenge I’m facing, I shut down. I count myself out and tell myself I’m not good enough, thinking surely there’s something else who’s more suited for the job.

But here’s what God wants us to realize…

God doesn’t need us to know everything – He just wants us to know Him. We can humbly ask Him for help in all things and trust that He can make up the difference in our lack.

Because of His Spirit within us, even if we’re technically unqualified to do something, we will never be DISQUALIFIED.

Like Peter and John in Acts 4 when they preached the good news and saved over 5,000 people, it’s your association with Jesus that will set you apart - not your experience or how much you know.

When you call upon the name of the Lord to be your strength and wisdom in all circumstances, you will accomplish more than you ever could on your own.

Compassion Triumphs Pity
Compassion Triumphs Pity

We can find biblical hope for this struggle when we consider the story of the Israelites’ exile in the Old Testament. The afflictions of the Israelites’ exile were two-fold. On one hand, they were exiled because of their own sin, and on the other hand, their burdens were increased because of the sin of the nations oppressing them. I am certain that if I were an exiled Israelite, I would have been grumbling and throwing pity parties the majority of the time. How does God respond to them? Throu...

As Christians, the biggest problem with unhealthy comparison is that it misplaces our passion for building the Kingdom of God onto building our own kingdoms of self. Comparison strips us of seeing what God has given us and called us to.
